Frequently asked Questions
Is this right for me?
Maybe you are feeling stressed and overwhelmed with the demands of daily life or you may be experiencing a significant event or big life change. Maybe you are struggling with relationships, or maybe you just need a listening ear. We believe everything is relevant and there is never a wrong time to seek support.
Psychological support is different than speaking to friends and family, we have specific skills that offer you deeper insights and understanding as to what is happening for you, and resolutions for moving forward.
You also don’t need to be diagnosed with a mental health disorder to seek support, you may just want someone to talk to.
Can I pick my therapist?
Of course, the choice is always with you. Both Kim and Simon have diverse skill sets and experience working with a range of clientele. Prospective clients have choice and autonomy in choosing which gender and specialist is best suited for you. Based on capacity and skill set of the therapist, we will assist in allocating you the most appropriate.
What should I expect during my first session?
It can be quite confronting seeing a psychologist or counsellor for the first time. It may feel a little awkward or uncomfortable at first, but our number one priority is to make you feel as safe and as comfortable as possible.
We might ask you questions about your life, your childhood, your current work situation, your family + relationships and your hobbies to help us get a clearer picture of how you came to be you.

We will also ask your goals for therapy and we may also assess how many sessions you may need. Before we start we will also discuss confidentiality and consent.

You can always choose to disclose as much or as little as you want throughout the sessions- we go at your pace.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?
We understand that things happen last minute. However, it is important that you get in touch with your therapist to reschedule yiur session as soon as possible
Do you offer rebates?
Kim offers Medicare Health Rebates under a Mental Health Care Plan. Simon offers rebates with a number of health insurer providers. These include HCF, BUPA, AHM, Medibank. Speak to your therapist how to access these rebates.
